Our Community Standards & Code of Conduct

Effective Date: 09/01/2022

Unaffiliate is committed to building a safe, inclusive, and trustworthy community. These Community Standards & Code of Conduct (“Standards”) outline expectations for all users of the Platform (Hosts, Guests, and Freelancers). By using the Platform, you agree to uphold these Standards. Violations may result in suspension, termination, or legal action, as provided in the Terms & Conditions.


1. Core Principles

  • Respect: Treat others with dignity, professionalism, and courtesy.

  • Safety: Prioritize physical, digital, and emotional safety in all interactions.

  • Integrity: Provide accurate information and honor commitments.

  • Compliance: Follow all applicable laws, permits, and Platform rules.


2. Prohibited Conduct

Users may not engage in:

  • Harassment or Abuse: Harassing, stalking, threatening, or bullying other users.

  • Hate Speech & Discrimination: Any conduct that discriminates on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected status.

  • Violence & Criminal Activity: Weapons, drugs, human trafficking, organized crime, or promoting terrorism.

  • Sexual Misconduct: Non-consensual sexual behavior, solicitation of sex work, or sexually explicit activity in prohibited spaces.

  • Fraud & Misrepresentation: Fake listings, false information, impersonation, or payment fraud.

  • Illegal or Unsafe Events: Hosting events without required permits, safety certifications, or in violation of local law.

  • Unauthorized Commercial Use: Reselling bookings, subletting without disclosure, or promoting competing platforms on Unaffiliate.


3. Host Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe, lawful, and accurately described listings.

  • Carry valid insurance and provide updated COI.

  • Ensure properties meet occupancy, fire, and safety codes.

  • Disclose all rules, restrictions (capacity limits, quiet hours, prohibited uses) in property description, and risks in listings.

  • Honor confirmed bookings (except where Force Majeure applies).

  • Comply with Experiences Standards & Requirements if offering experiences.

4. Guest Responsibilities

  • Respect host property, rules, and neighbors.

  • Do not exceed guest limits or cause disturbances.

  • Comply with check-in, check-out, Guest Rules & Policies plus any house rules, and cancellation rules posted on listings.

  • Complete ID verification honestly and accurately.


5. Freelancer Responsibilities

  • Accurately represent skills, qualifications, and availability.

  • Provide services professionally and on time.

  • Respect host and guest privacy and property.

  • Maintain required licenses or certifications, if applicable.


6. Digital Conduct

  • No hacking, scraping, or reverse engineering the Platform.

  • No posting malware, spam, or deceptive content.

  • User content must not infringe third-party intellectual property.

  • Respect privacy of communications between users.


7. Reporting & Enforcement

  • Users may report violations via the Platform’s Resolution Center or Help Desk.

  • Unaffiliate may investigate, suspend, or terminate accounts at its sole discretion.

  • Depending on severity, Unaffiliate may escalate to law enforcement or regulators.

  • Repeated violations will result in permanent removal from the Platform.


8. Dispute Alignment

  • Disputes arising from violations of these Standards will be handled under the Refunds, Cancellations & Dispute Resolution Policy.

  • Final authority rests with Unaffiliate, subject to arbitration rights under the Terms & Conditions.


9. Severability & Incorporation

If any part of these Standards is unenforceable, the remainder will continue in effect. These Standards are incorporated into the Terms & Conditions and survive termination of accounts.
